Cracked Window

The Gnome’s lonely vigil, which I commented on last week, isn’t so lonely anymore.

A little buddy has joined him in watching the world pass by in Northeast Portland’s Irvington neighborhood.

Now I’m waiting for the newcomer to climb into the crevice, ensuring the Gnome permanent company as the tree slowly grows shut around them. I hope the lantern in his hand burns bright and long.

Update: Now the little buddy is gone. he’s either been spirited away or left on his own. Could he and the Gnome had a falling out?
